The Collaboratory
Working Art
The Intersection of Art and Architecture
Working Art was by established by Khabir Salahadyn to explore the intersection of Art and Architecture through welding and metal craft; essentially reinventing "Interactive Hard Art".
Working Art is steeped in an attitude of continual exploration into the art of "Making Ideas Tangible".
The exploration of materials is a continual focus of our energy at The Collaboratory. We dissolve the boundaries of fusing and bonding minerals and materials, to support the tangible function and aesthetic desire of form.
Through our continuous experimentation and combined experience, we make use of every possibility the minerals and materials around us possess. What is old and good is never going away. We explore the possibilities of the present and the past while recombining both to construct our future.
Our understanding and engagement in the evolutionary process allows us to see and love all that already exists. Combined with our skills and technical expertise, we are equipped to "Make Ideas Tangible".
We have the ability and capacity to create what you know intuitively is possible through your productive imagination, determination and position to effect change.
When the intentions of the designer and maker are aligned, it is inevitable that you will observe a tangible idea.
Working Art is a bridge to translate your ideas into Tangible Working Art forms.
We embrace the intention of code and know how to apply it. We make compliant forms and structures, with purpose, function and uncompromised, artistic properties.
We know that we are a vital resource, to those who are working towards building a future based on productive creativity and service.
Our mission is to serve and collaborate with all who have an intention to evolve our built environment. We are well equipped to serve those who are evolving environments that shape our characteristics, properties and state.
The vitality of your expression is what we translate into tangible form at:
Working
Sustained effort valued as it overcomes obstacles and achieves an objective or goal.
Art
The conscious use of skill, taste and creative imagination in the production of beauty.
